The Kaufmann House has a long history. It was first mentioned in the land register in 1801. At that time, it was a simple barn. In 1926, the house came into the possession of Angelika's grandparents, Josef Anton and Louisa Kaufmann. Ine was a hunter and farmer, and briefly even served as mayor of Mellau. Säle ran the Mellau post office as postmistress in what is now the "Gado" (=bedroom) on the ground floor until 1955. She even learned Morse code in a course in Innsbruck. Ten children grew up in this house, including Angelika's father, Gerhard. More here.

Uns hat alles gefallen, die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war schon super und vor Ort wurde das ganze noch durch die freundliche Art getoppt. Es war alles so unkompliziert, egal ob es um Handtücher oder der Müllentsorgungssymbol ging. Es war fast alles da, was man so braucht und die Betten waren sehr bequem. Klare Empfehlung von uns und wir hoffen, dass wir wieder kommen können.
