A house with history

The Kaufmann House has a long history. It was first mentioned in the land register in 1801. At that time, it was a simple barn. In 1926, the house came into the possession of Angelika's grandparents, Josef Anton and Louisa Kaufmann. Ine was a hunter and farmer, and briefly even served as mayor of Mellau. Säle ran the Mellau post office as postmistress in what is now the "Gado" (=bedroom) on the ground floor until 1955. She even learned Morse code in a course in Innsbruck. Ten children grew up in this house, including Angelika's father, Gerhard. More here.

Very nice landlady, location just a few steps from the ski bus stop/ shopping facilities and restaurants nearby, uncomplicated self-check-in.

Heike, Germany, 2026

Heinz family, Germany, 2025

Super nice hostess, very good location (near the bus stop to the gondola) and totally uncomplicated interaction.

Filip, Deutschland, 2025

An all-around pleasant and relaxing stay: the furnishings and cleanliness of the apartment and the friendliness and helpfulness of the hostess.
